If you’ve ever gone to a review site to find a good brunch restaurant in Billings, you’ve no doubt been offered breakfast restaurants as well.
There is a difference between the two, as brunch fans can attest. Brunch is the meal you eat when it’s too late for breakfast and too early for lunch.
It includes a variety of dishes from both repasts—something for the still half-asleep and for the been-up-for-hours Billingsite.
That said, breakfast at some is actually brunch. Confused?
We asked friends and clients to talk about their favorite brunch in Billings and we’re sharing them with you today.
Harper & Madison
Not only does Harper & Madison serve up an amazing brunch, but, when the weather warms up, you can dine on the patio. Our dining suggestion? Huevos rancheros and, for the vegetarian, the yummy vegetarian omelet. These two (and more) are served on Saturdays, from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Harper & Madison is located at 3115 10th Ave. North in Billings. Check out the menu online at harperandmadison.com.
Brunch at Commons 1882 is served on Sundays and it’s light on the “brunch” and heavy on breakfast. But, oh, what a lovely breakfast! Enjoy favorites like eggs Benedict, pancakes, French toast and a bloody Mary bar. Brunch hours are Sundays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 404 N 30th St. in Billings. See the menu online at commons1882.com.
Stella’s Kitchen & Bakery
Homey décor, family-friendly and tasty food – what more could a Billings brunch fan ask for? A website would be nice, but, lacking that, we found recommendations from friends and clients. The pancakes are quite popular at Stella’s and bakery deliciousness is available to take home. Stella’s Kitchen & Bakery is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. You’ll find them at 2525 1st Ave N.
A Billings fixture for 20 years now, McCormick Café serves up (among other dishes) a favorite at our house – crepes! They also do an incredible job on the banana pancakes. Bonus: They have a kids’ menu and they serve “breakfast” all day, every day. See the menu here and find McCormick Café at 2419 Montana Ave.
Corned beef hash fans beat a bath to the Northern Hotel’s Bernie’s Diner. I, personally, love the banana bread stuffed French toast (stuffed with huckleberries). The menu is extensive and they serve all day. Find Bernie’s Diner’s menu online at northernhotel.com and in person at 19 North Broadway in Billings.
The Fieldhouse serves their tasty brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays. Although it’s more akin to a breakfast menu, they do have weekly mimosa specials, which is rather “brunchy” if you ask us! We love the names of the dishes – choose “Boring” and you’ll get bacon and eggs. Order the weekly special and you’ll get “whatever.” We suggest the frittata. And the Brussels. Yum. See the menu here and visit The Fieldhouse at 2601 Minnesota Ave. Hours are hard to find on the website, so call them if you need to know: (406) 534-2556.
